How Significant is an Ebay Buyers Reputation
As a buyer, the most important thing that people will learn about you is your eBay buyers reputation (or “feedback rating”). This feedback will help them to decide whether or not they can trust you.
Whenever you buy or sell anything on eBay, people can leave you feedback and you do the same for them. The feedback is either positive, neutral or negative. Your total feedback is calculated subtracting the number of negative comments from the positive. Simply put, if you have 20 positive ratings and 1 negative one, your total feedback rating will be 19.
If you are a considerate buyer, you will find that you will easily receive positive feedback from others, and you won’t even need to do anything. However, if you would like to help things along a little, there are several things you can do.
1. Leave Feedback For Others
People often feel obligated to leave you feedback if you leave it for them first. (You can expect an email from eBay giving you this opportunity following each transition). I know that sometimes our lives get busy, but make the time to write positive feedback for the seller if they deserve it and they will likely do the same for you. It will only take a few minutes.
2. Pay Promptly
Sellers love it if they are paid immediately following a sale; it saves on all sorts of worry. In most cases, positive feedback will appear for you within minutes of paying if you pay right away.
3. Don’t Be a Difficult Customer
Sellers sometimes will take a day or two to respond to you, and maybe another few days before they can get the item sent. Harassing them is really not necessary; you are only being nasty and will not get any good feedback.
4. Build Relationships
When a seller sells a variety of other things that you like in their store or on eBay, consider buying from them again. Sellers like to have regular customers and will leave you positive feedback such as ” as usual, a joy to deal with”. They may even have a few special deals that they will offer you.
Generally, sellers are not reluctant to sell to you if you do not yet have much of a eBay buyers reputation, after all, as the seller he is the one taking on the majority of the risk here.
But the thing that you want to keep in mind is, whether you are the buyer or the seller, each time you receive positive or negative feedback it will be counted towards your total feedback rating. So, if someday you decide to sell, you will already have good feedback and the customer is more inclined to trust you and buy from you. It pays to be a good buyer.
How can I avoid having a prospective employer contact a former employer for reference?
At the place I used to work for, the receptionist was extremely jealous of me, and really seemed to **** me. My boss would likely give a professional, fair reference, but a prospective employer would never get past the receptionist. What can I do if said receptionist does give a bad character reference for me? She is not beyond lying to cause me grief, in fact, that is why I no longer work there, because she caused me so much anxiety and stress. I live in Michigan, and from what I have found on the internet, employers can say whatever they want about me. But I think I can sue if what they say results in me not being hired. Assuming a prospective employer would not find a need to tell me about the poor reference, how do I protect myself and my reputation? Also, who would I go to for a lawsuit in such a case? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Where can I buy a chi curling iron from a reputable site and NOT from ebay?
I have posted before about buying a chi and I already have the flat iron but I have looked at every hair salon, store, internet site and cannot find chi curling irons. I would really like to buy one but I am not going to risk spending $90-$100 on a site that doesn’t have a good reputation. I also don’t trust ebay for hair supplies. I also know that you can curl using a flat iron but I want to buy a curling iron. Thanks to anyone that can help! Also, any store to buy in person is fine too.
thanks to all who have answered so far… folica looks like a great site but they had the wrong size iron…I have checked amazon before and was not sure if you could trust them since the iron I want comes from another site and had a few negative comments when reviewing them on amazon. if anyone knows more about amazon and how they get their merchandise to sell, I would greatly appreciate it! thanks for the suggestions!
I testified for a plaintiff against a huge corporation,Suit won huge awarded. Then I was slandered on Internet?
I testified for a plaintiff against a huge corporation I had worked for. The suit was won, and a huge dollar amount was awarded. Shortly afterward, the plaintiff slandered me in a video taped interview. Part of the interview was published on the Internet by a well known journalist. I was not contacted to make any statement or to in anyway defend the statements that were made. After a lot of work on my part, the journalist has modified the “interview”, taking my name out. All of this is easily proven. Can the parties be sued for damages incurred, such as injury to my health (I have a neurological disease which is worsened by stress and will not ever improve), as well as financial and professional damages to my reputation? Would any attorney take the case on a contingency basis? This would be very high profile. The law suit I testified in appears to now be part of an upcoming class action case against the corporation I worked for. Thank you
Tips and Guide to Finding Responsible and Reputable Puppy Breeders
When deciding on a puppy, you must first consider if you desire to have a purebred or a mixed breed. If a pedigree is what you want, a reputable breeder will offer you the best bet for pups with a recognized heritage and certificates to authenticate their parental lineage.
Finding the right breeder depends on the breed that you select. Professional breeders do not breed their dogs frequently. Breeders will only do so when a pair of dogs is found to be healthy and have temperaments that will insure the birth of similarly healthy offspring. Breeders will also breed their dogs only when a sufficient number of homes have been evaluated and deemed appropriate for the new puppies.
As there are no hard and fast rules on how a standard breeder should behave and operate their business, you should seek advices and talk to as many breeders as you possibly can to make a better informed decision. There are different types of dog breeders out there. Learning more about the breeders will enable you to understand the consequences of your choice.
A good breeder will have the dogs checked for diseases and have all relevant information regarding the pair’s lineage and health documentation. Should a breeder find no problem in the history of the pair, you must still confirm the details to be sure. One way is to ask for the contacts of owners who have bought offspring in the past to check if there were any problems. This should not be difficult as responsible breeders always maintain a close relationship with their customers.
Reputable breeders have certain requirements that you must have before qualifying as a potential dog owner. These usually come as written contracts with a neuter requirement as a clause. This limits the registration of the puppies for breeding. This is to ensure the breeder is protected and to control the dog population.
The person who wants his dogs must have a secured backyard and be prepared to attend certain classes such a puppy kindergarten. This is for you to be familiar with the challenges you will face when you bring the puppy home. This is very important especially for new dog owners.
Reputable breeders tend to enforce more stringent selling policies than that of your local pet shop. They are always anxious and do everything within their power to ensure that their puppies have good homes. Breeders who have integrity are different from those who are not. This additional requirements are meant to be obstacles to the ownership of the dog, but to ascertain that owners are fully aware of the responsibilities involved. As expected, such irresponsible breeders would not care less about the well-being of the dogs as they are merely concerned about the bottom line.
One of the most critical factors in identifying a good breeder aside from the health and food given to the pets is to check on the condition of the mother after birth and the way the puppies are being taken care of. A good way would be to pay a visit to the breeder occasionally to check on the puppies’ condition.
Another advantage of buying from a reputable breeder is that you will be able to get help from them without any extra cost. Should the placement of the puppy be less than satisfactory with the new owner, the breeder will ask that the owner return the puppy and the breeder will source for suitable homes for the pup, as the puppy’s life is of utmost concern to the breeder.

Choosing a Reputable Breeder
Adding a puppy to your family is an exciting event. One of the things you can do to make this addition go smoothly is to find a reputable breeder from which to purchase your puppy. A reputable breeder will only sell you a puppy that is healthy and well-socialized.
What is a Reputable Breeder?
A reputable breeder is knowledgeable about their breed. They will be able to discuss common health problems with that breed, and offer proof of medical testing to show their lines are free of those issues. All puppies will be well cared for and well socialized with people, other dogs and household pets. They will be able to tell you what they are striving for in their breeding program. Are these show dogs? Working dogs? Do they breed for a personable, friendly temperament?
A reputable breeder will have both parents of the litter on the premises for you to meet. The puppies will be clean and their surroundings will be well maintained. They will interview you as a prospective owner as much as you interview them as a dog breeder… maybe more. They will offer to take the dog back if for any reason it doesn’t work out.
How Do You Find a Reputable Breeder?
While it isn’t a guarantee, if a breeder is registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), it gives you a place to start. Other sources are to go to local dog clubs or shows and ask about reputable breeders for the breed you are looking for. They may have some good tips or leads for you to pursue. You may need to wait until a litter is available, so don’t let your enthusiasm for getting a puppy override your common sense. It is better to wait for a quality puppy than get stuck with one that ends up with health problems due to bad breeding practices.
Additional Tips for Finding the Perfect Puppy
Don’t ever buy a puppy sight unseen. Photos are not good enough. A good breeder will insist on meeting you as well.
Find out how many breeds the breeder handles. More than two breeds may be indicative of a puppy mill rather than a professional. Likewise, tread carefully with backyard breeders who may have a litter “just for the fun of it.” They may not know what to look for or provide the proper medical care to the puppies after they are born.
A reputable breeder will never let a puppy go to a new home before they are at least eight weeks old and properly weaned. Younger puppies may be cute, but if they are weaned too early or incompletely when they go to their new home, they may end up with health issues.
Never buy a puppy because you feel you need to “rescue it from terrible surroundings.” This only serves to keep disreputable breeders in business and encourages them to continue. Pet stores are not good places to buy the puppy of your dreams. Many of these puppies come from puppy mills and may not be free of health problems or socialization issues.
Purchasing a dog is a big event. This dog will be a part of your family life for at least fifteen years. Take the time now to do your homework so you get a dog that will be a happy part of your family.
Internet Reputation Management - Create A Positive Brand Image
Internet reputation management, a service rendered by SEO firms, helps to create a positive brand image. If a simple search on the net for your brand or company reveals not only good information, but also negative listings that show it in a bad light, reputation management is definitely the need of the hour for you. Even if you enjoy a very successful reputation online, it would do you good to be aware if any customer, ex-employee competitor, or anyone else is posting malicious comments about your company online. The problem should be curbed early to avoid problems in other areas such as sales, recruitment, financials and investor relations, which would spoil your brand.
What is Successful Internet Reputation Management?
A successful internet reputation management strategy would involve measures like the following:
• Proper planning after understanding what your end goals are and studying the search engine setting where you would be competing.
• Keeping a watch on what people are saying about your brand name online through the utilization of alerts (Google, Yahoo), brand tracking using personalized RSS feeders, and examination of websites related to the industry.
• Determining what type of sites carry the negative information and examining how the negative publicity is affecting your image.
• Remedial measures like blog, article and press release creation; forum participation; keyword optimization; videos; social network profiles; and PPC campaigns in a way that would promote a good brand image and restore credibilty.

Teen & Internet?
About a week ago I noticed the internet history & stuff like that was deleted everytime I got online, so of coarse I became suspicious. It’s only me & my 14 yr old daughter living here. I started logging her instant messages & I purchased Eblaster. Well low & behold I found an instant message that could be on one of those 900 call lines. At first she denied it, but she fessed up to it. I’ve totally locked the computer for now & took her cell phone. What else do I do? She doesn’t get it when I talk to her about her reputation with stuff like this. I’m blown away, hurt, pissed, you name it. Mostly shocked..she’s the baby, never expected it of her.
How do I make her see how wrong this is & what it does to her reputation?
