Online reputation management, an effective way to protect your brand online has become the newest trend in the online advertising world. Since there are certain factors that may adversely affect your brand name it is important to handle the marketing techniques that improve your brand visibility in search engines, effectively.

Develop innovative marketing ideas

Your company’s online reputation depends on the way in which others, especially the customers, view your business. A disgruntled customer is more than enough to destroy your reputation among potential customers. Hence, to protect your brand online, it is important to create highly effective ads through online reputation management tools in order to secure more customers. You can optimize all your digital communication that is commonly available on the web such as press releases, E-zines, blogs etc.

Monitor your online status regularly

You should always take care to verify periodically what is being said about your business online. If you find any drawbacks for your presence in the web, you can consider some modifications to your online ads. Google Alerts, TweetBeep, MonitorThis, Trackur, etc. are some of the effective online reputation management tools to research your name efficiently. It would be better if you could create your own website that is transparent about your products and services and provides an open space for the customers to interact with.

Reliable online reputation management companies at your service

It is always recommended to partner with a professional organization where your company’s brand awareness will be optimized effectively. Some of the marketing techniques employed by such companies are not limited to:

• Writing article tutorials and publishing in different article directories

• Free advertising through free email service

• Online ads through E-zines and search engine friendly newsletters

• Passing the message through funny videos, flash games, interactive images etc.

Through online reputation management you can protect your brand online as well as gain potential customers worldwide.

In today’s world of push button publishing, any company can become the victim of an online attack from any disgruntled customer or competitor with a computer and an internet connection. Because of the nature of online search, negative blog posts, comments, and press can quickly tarnish a company’s reputation when potential customers find harsh criticisms when conducting a search for your company’s name.

These types of attacks can be extremely damaging to your reputation and profitability - especially when they appear on the first page of search results. However, there are ways to counter them using the same techniques applied by top Internet reputation management experts.

#1 Monitor Your Online Presence

A key component in any Internet reputation management campaign is to continuously monitor what others are saying about you online. When and if negative information is published about your company, you’ll want to be aware of it quickly in order to take action. The simplest way to do this is to set up a Google Alert for your name and your company name, as well as any other key terms associated with your line of business.

#2 Think Carefully Before You Retort

Unlike a conversation you may have with someone in person, a dialog carried out in the comments section of a blog or online forum will be recorded and leave a footprint online for years to come. If you learn that someone has posted a negative comment about you or your business, your first instinct may be to type out a heated retort. Instead of replying immediately, give yourself time to calm down and clearly think through your message before you reply.

Once you calm down, you will likely regret what you may have said in the heat of the moment and worse, possibly enabled the negative publicity to rise in search results.

#3 Ask Content Publishers to Remove Vicious Attacks

Internet reputation management experts will tell you that you can remove some blatantly slanderous results by contacting the content publishers where the comments are posted. This is usually only the case when the comments are overtly slanderous and unfounded. However, many content publishers will not remove material once it has been published. Once you’ve attempted to remove as much of the negative commentary as possible, your next plan of action should be to push the negative dialog as far back in the search engine results as possible. While quite time-consuming, it is a key component.

#4 Continuously Grow Your Presence on Search Engines

More relevant positive information, properly created, in the search engines related to you or your company will dilute the negative information and push it further back in the search engine results. The most effective way to accomplish this is by publishing more valuable content online through user-generated content sites or by building optimized profiles on various social media sites. Remember, the vast majority of people only search the first page of search results.

Companies and individuals may need to rely on Internet reputation management experts to push negative queries back from the first or second page of search results to a distant place where they will seldom if ever be seen. Professional internet reputation management experts use techniques that include building entire sites, massive article publication and distribution, press release generation and distribution, worldwide blogging and more. In addition, Internet reputation management experts are skilled in search engine optimization techniques and understand how and why search engines rank pages, thus making their efforts even more effective.

Internet reputation management is a service or strategy resorted to when one´s online reputation has been endangered by negative web-based publicity. This publicity may assume the form of negative comments on forums and podcasts, negative press, negative blog postings, fake reviews, and so on. If you were to approach an SEO firm for an internet reputation management solution, it could help you in three respects:

• Monitoring your online reputation and furnishing reports

• Investigating your online assets

• Controlling online conversations

What It´s All About

The spreading of false or partially true information about any company which once enjoyed a solid, stain-free reputation would cost the company a loss of face and affect consumer confidence. This would in turn decrease revenue and returns. This is where internet reputation management assumes importance. It involves the successful removal or pushing back of negative search engine results through an increase in the number and appropriateness of affirmative search results. The bad is diluted to make way for the good.

The Reputation Management Strategy

A good internet reputation management professional would know the exact criteria on the basis of which search engines rank websites. This knowledge would be employed to adopt strategies that would help websites remain on top of the ever changing search engine algorithms, successfully defeating all the negatives.

With respect to monitoring your online reputation, one of the tools that SEO firms take advantage of is Google alerts. These alerts help by informing you through email if the “robots” have found a mention of your firm´s name or your own on the internet. So, you can instantly take action.

One of the facts that help to make internet reputation management so much more easy is that most people doing an online search check out only the first page of the search results. So, a great improvement can be achieved by simply promoting or creating web content like articles, websites, blogs, press releases, and video to ensure absolute positivity of the most frequently visited first pages. Link building would further help the process.

You Can´t Expect Results Overnight

It cannot be denied that it would take a while (anywhere from a couple of months for a simple problem to maybe a year for a more complicated problem) for you to be able to reap the fruits of your efforts, but it´s really worth it.

It all started when I was cyberbullied by a girl 9 years older than me. I was 14 , she was 23.

She put all her “Stories” about me in her blog…with my picture in it.

I was so ashamed.Imagine your face given a bad reputation in the cyberworld. isn’t that embarassing?

How can I deal with this kind of people?
